Beginning That Novel
(Participants are asked to arrive a few minutes early each evening so that the workshop
can begin at 7pm)
If you have always said 'I would love to write a book...' or you need some guidance to continue something that you have started, this 5 week comprehensive course into beginning a novel is perfect for you. This course will give you the tools to begin and to continue.
This will be a limited sized group to allow lots of individual attention to begin the craft of writing that book with plently og constructive feedback in a very nurturing setting.
During the 5 weeks, participants will be introduced to the essential ingredients needed to write a book:
👉 How to create theme.
👉 The structure of a book.
👉 Deciding on narrative
👉 The importance of setting
👉 Writing believable dialogue.
👉 Creating compelling characters.
👉 Creating a narrative that flows.
👉 How to add intrigue into your novel.
This course is also suitable for someone who may have gotten stuck on a project and find they need a kick start. It is also suitable for anyone who has a memoir project in mind. The aim of the course is to give you the essential tools to continue your project.
This course will be facilitated by Sheila Forsey who is a graduate from Maynooth University in Creative Writing. She is the recipient of a literature bursary award from Wexford County Council and Artlinks. She facilitates creative writing workshops throughout the country. She is the tutor for creative Writing for Gorey Adult Education. Sheila has signed a three-part book deal in historical fiction with Poolbeg Press in Ireland.
