The Presentation Centre Presents
Kustom Kulture An Exhibition of Work by Ger Marum 24th June – 11th August 2017 In conjunction with the Wexford Arts Centre The Presentation Centre Enniscorthy is proud to host an exhibition of work by visual artist, Ger Marum. Ger has been creating Kustom Kulture artwork for almost 30 years, graduating from Ballyfermot senior college with an honours degree in Design & Computer Animation in 1990. Through illustrating and creating during his time in college, Ger eventually found his desired medium of airbrushing through family ties with the genre. In the past, Ger has worked in graphic design & printing while continuing to work from home creating his unique one off pieces. His interest in the Kustom Kulture Lifestyle; customizing cars, bikes and scooter led to a fascination with Low Brow art, working with airbrush and design. This influence is evident in his work with functional objects and found objects. Giving up his day job in 2007 Ger fully immersed himself in the custom art scene, working with cars, trucks, bikes, toilet seats and “anything that would stay still long enough”. In 2016 Ger opened his own custom art design studio, The Kustom Kulture Cartel in Gorey. From there, he offers many art & design services including graphic design, apparel painting, signage and modern and traditional commissioned art pieces and lowbrow artwork. The art you will see on display at the Presentation Centre has been created at Ger’s studio in Gorey and encompasses the efforts Ger has undergone and the style he has developed through his work as a custom artist and graphic designer. “It hasn’t been an easy road, it takes a huge amount of commitment and dedication to make a living as an artist, but where’s the satisfaction in having things handed to you? Work as hard as you can and stick to your dreams, when possible. I draw monsters and I’m happy...” The Presentation Centre |
